Shemini Atzeret Begins at Sundown (Simchat Torah)

Sunday, October 4, 2015

Shemini Atzeret begins tonight at sundown.
In Israel and in some American Reform Judaism communities,
this is also Simchat Torah.

This is a full-festival day (restrictions similar to Shabbat)
and is literally the "eighth day of assembly", following the seven
days of Sukkot.

For more, see: http://www.jewfaq.org/holiday6.htm
Work is prohibited on the first day and on Shemini Atzeret.
