Rosh Hashana is observed for two days, and will end Tuesday evening.
It is the Jewish New Year.

Attending services at MANY shuls will require a TICKET
on the FIRST day of Rosh Hashana.
All other services at most shuls will be not as well-attended,
so seating will usually be "open" during those services.

After Rosh Hashana, which is the First of Tishrei on the Hebrew
calendar, comes Yom Kippur, which is the 10th of Tishrei,
starting the evening of Tuesday, October 11th, this year.
Then comes Sukkot on the 15th of Tishrei, the eve of Sunday,
October 16th. Sukkot is 7 days, followed immediately by
Shemini Atzeret and Simhat Torah.
